After researching for 2 months checking out YouTube videos and online reviews. I settled with safe-Tec I fell in love with the helmet when I received it. I tested it out and the lights are very bright. The helmet is light in Comfortable to wear. I have an android phone and I was still able to make voice command calls. The speakers in microphone are Excellent I was able to hear them perfectly and they were able to hear me back without any problems.

I ordered this helmet after reading the reviews and watching some U-tube videos. I couldn’t be happier. The lighting is bright and functions well with the remote. The sound is fantastic. I have severely impaired hearing and could only hear music okay if I used the Bluetooth feature on my hearing aids. Listening like this blocked out road noise and conversations with other cyclists. The bone conductivity sound is fantastic. Also, I can still hear cars making my ride safer and enjoyable. The only drawback on your product is the way the remote attaches to the bike. It makes it difficult to change bicycles without using new zip ties each time. I ended up filing off the tabs and glueing a garmin mount to the back of the remote. Problem solved. I am still giving you 5 stars, but please, solve the mount issue I just wrote about. It functions well, but my way is better.

This is a "first look" review - I have a 90 minute ride and a 3 hour ride under this helmet. I've been both really impressed and extremely happy with my TYR3.
Fit: I originally ordered a Large, but my head is a bit longer and narrower, so I had to exchange it for an XL. Note: XL is what I typically wear in other helmets, so it wasn't a surprise, but I was following the size guidance for the helmet. Bottom line, refer to the size guidance, but also look to what size you take for other helmets. I added a couple of pads (CAREFULLY) inside the MIPS shell on the sides of the helmet "behind the ears" to close the fit on the sides, but it all worked out. I adjusted the chinstrap and moved the clips on the straps up closer to the bottom of my ears. It easily dialed in with the rear adjustment and fit comfortably. I like that the sides of the helmet sit a bit higher off of the ears because it's easier to get my sunglasses on and off. I noted that one of the reviews commented about the point where the straps connect at the rear of the helmet can be uncomfortable. The helmet does seem to fit a bit closer to the back of my head, which can cause the rear straps to kink a bit. However, when I put the helmet on I just give a gentle pull on the back straps to pull any kinks out and I didn't notice it again.
Pairing: It paired very easily with my iPhone. I was sitting at my desk when I paired it and it was so clear that I thought my phone didn't recognize the helmet and was playing through the speakers in my phone. I put my phone in a drawer and closed it, and realized I was hearing the helmet speakers. Okay, so they are "stereo sound" but they are great for a bike ride! The remote was already paired with the helmet, and the lights turned on just fine.
Comfort: I was really surprised by how good the ventilation was. On my longer ride it was a bit colder and I had to put a helmet cover on because the ventilation made my head cold. This helmet is about an ounce heavier than my old helmet, so hardly noticeable. It's totally worth one ounce for MIPS and to be able to to have both of my ears open and clear. I also noted that the helmet was well-balanced. I didn't feel any fatigue or pain points in my head, neck or shoulders, even after three hours of riding.
The three hour ride was on an overcast day so I turned the lights on for visibility. I rode past a police officer who had stopped to help a stranded motorist and he called out, "I like the helmet!"
A few comments: (1) The buttons are a bit hard to trigger, particularly when wearing gloves. It can also be a bit difficult to tell which button; I found myself searching through the chinguard trying to find the right button, but I'm sure that will get easier with familiarity. (2) It would be nice if the helmet could make an audible beep when a button is triggered. Sometimes I found myself waiting to see if my effort to press one of the buttons registered with the helmet. (3) Rather than a snap/strap for the remote, it would be great if they could put a small metal loop on the remote that could be used to secure the remote to a key chain. Most bike shorts and hydration packs have a little clip to attach keys, and if I'm not using the turn signal function (I feel like drivers will still look for hand signals) I would like to have a better sense that the remote is secured.
So maybe this is all too much, but I wanted to provide some comprehensive feedback. Bottom line: So far I'm really happy with the safety and security of my MIPS smart helmet. I'm also really happy with the comfort. It's a little pricey compared to other helmets, but the comfort, convenience, and safety make it worth the money. As somebody said to me once, "if you have a $20 head, buy a $20 helmet." I've had a couple of accidents where the helmet I was wearing really save me, so I made the investment. I'm glad I did. Hope this helps you in your decision. Ride happy; ride safe!

I have been using the Tyr3 for some months now, found it a good security device, like the MIPS construction and the design of internal pads. I think that the posterior part of the strap fixation (the upper part of the strap fixed to the helmet) could be improved to allow more comfort to users. I barely would consider the speakers "bone in". Never could activate the function to initiate a call pressing 2 seconds (if the phone has a voice assistant) mentioned in the Manual.

It is real! I was the winner of the October, 2020 helmet. It arrived after a few days in November. Thanks SAFE-TEC!
About the helmet TYR3, I didn't want to be biased by the emotion of my good luck. So, I waited a few weeks to ride with the helmet and give an objective opinion. It is fantastic! Being an Industrial Designer myself, it is important to balance style and function of the whole system. This is what a TYR3 helmet is: A SYSTEM. Integrating features, for the connectivity, communications, entertainment and the practicality of the latest technologies for safety, comfort, function and appearance. A little work to do on the appearance and finish of the remote though. Nothing has broken so far and with good care I expect to use this helmet for a long time. (or until I'm lucky enough to win a new model to replace it, LOL).
I'm by no means a professional cyclist. I´m only an enthusiast of both, non-competitive cycling sport and novel products due to my profession.
Thanks SAFE-TEC for the helmet and thanks for putting the creativity at work on this nice product.
Congratulations Alejandro, and thank you for your review.

I made the move to purchase the TYR 3 because of its features, looks and size availability. I was not disappointed at all. I have a XL size head 63cm or 7 3/8 hat size. I have been a long time bicycle commuter and victim of an accident where I was struck by a car. The value of having a helmet CAN NOT be overstated. A helmet saved my life! A more visible helmet maybe would have spared me an accident and all the recovery that went with it. The TYR 3 helmet is flawless!!! I love the lighting as it seems that in the dimming light motorists are seeing me and giving me more space. I commute approx. 30 miles to work so having music to listen to and phone answering through this feature rich helmet have been an OUTSTANDING plus. The ventilation has been great! I just finished a 157 mile ride in 90-100+ F temperatures and the vents worked great plus caused a few winged insects to bounce right off the mesh screen up front, and I have been stung in other helmets without the mesh. I love the FID lock system! The remote on the handle bars is great! simple! I find the material texture outstanding and the arrows and power symbol are perfect. I did not like the remote mount so much so I opted to file the back flat, and glue a GARMIN mount adapter to the base and it sits perfectly on my handlebars. The Helmet audio system has lasted for up to 6.2 hours and the lights have yet to stop working...granted I charge it typically after 4 hours of use. I bought this helmet in White and it looks great. I think maybe I should have given orange a shot but maybe that will be my next purchase. Having MIPS technology is another PLUS! THIS IS THE PERFECT HELMET FOR A LONG ROUTE BIKE COMMUTER!!!!! ESPECIALLY IF YOUR HEAD SIZE IS NOT NORMAL! SAFE-TEC I wish I would have known about your products earlier. WHO EVER THE DESIGNERS ARE, GOT THIS RIGHT !

I purchased a Safetec bicycle helmet (TYR 3 MIPS) back in January 2019.
Great helmet! Comfortable, Good chin strap and really great for music while cycling with goo battery life.
On the first commute the remote fell off the handle bar mount. This was replaced by SafeTec along with an additional handlebar mount for the remote.
Since then both of the handle bar mounts have snapped and I can no longer attach the remote to the handlebar.
The lights on the helmet work but I am no longer able to use the remote turn signal function.
The handle bar mounting attachment design is quite flimsy with the plastic snapping in the same sport after repeated connection / disconnection of the remote (even worse if the system is used in cold weather (0 degC).

Helmet has very nice features and appearance, but the head adjuster fell apart before I used it on a ride.
The adjuster seems very flimsy and do not think it will last too long. I promptly returned it to my LBS who offered an exchange. Will opt for a helmet with less features and go for better component quality.
Sorry to hear about the problem. This is the first time we had a complaint about the adjuster. You probably had the odd lemon.
We e-mailed you, so please check your inbox. We would love to call you to get more details about the problem with the head adjuster and send you another helmet or give you a full refund.

The bone conduction headphones are amazing. Love my workout while listening to podcasts while still hearing the traffic around me. Great battery life. I feel a lot safer.
